Hace muchos años conocí la receta del Panettone, por medio de una amiga Italiana. Hoy en día ya es una receta conocida internacionalmente, que endulza casas de todo el mundo por navidad. Es por ello que no podría faltar entre nuestra selección de recetas de navidad. En este caso vamos hacer esta receta con thermomix.

Ingredientes para el Panettone:

Para hacer el fermento:

40 grs de levadura fresca.
1cda de azúcar.
2 cdas. de harina.
4 cdas. de agua tibia.

Para hacer la masa:

600 gr. harina.
50 ml. de leche.
100 ml. de agua.
160 azúcar.
150 gr. de mantequilla pomada.
3 huevos.
1 cdita. de sal.
1 cda. de agua de azahar.
ralladura de naranja y limón.
200 gr. de frutas confitadas y frutos secos.
50 gr. de gotas de chocolate.

Para hacer el fermento: disolvemos completamente la levadura en el agua tibia, le añadimos el azúcar y la harina lo mezclamos todo bien y lo tapamos con filme, dejamos que fermente de 15 a 20 minutos.

Para hacer la masa: Ponemos la leche y el agua, junto al azúcar, a temperatura 37º y velocidad 2, durante 1 minuto, añadimos la harina y la mezclamos a velocidad 6 durante unos segundos, añadimos el fermento y amasamos 2 minutos, a velocidad Espiga, paramos la maquina e incorporamos la mantequilla, los huevos batidos con la sal, el agua de azahar y las ralladuras de naranja y limón. Seguimos amasando, durante 3 minutos mas, paramos la thermomix e incorporamos las frutas y el chocolate, ponemos a amasar a velocidad Espiga unos segundos mas, para que se mezcle, vertemos la masa en su molde (previamente untado con mantequilla por toda la superficie) y dejamos que crezca de 40 a 50 minutos. Precalentamos el horno a 200º, bajamos a 180º, y ponemos en el horno de 40 a 45 minutos.

The best chocolate bars are the ones that hold the greatest memories of being at the movie theaters, the carnivals, at halloween, at home watching your favorite show.

As children we all had our favorite best chocolate bars. For me it was one thing, for my friends another. We all hovered around the same top three best chocolate bars at that time. They were the Snickers, Baby Ruth and the Musketeer chocolate candy bars. Although another favorite of mine was Hershey's milk chocolate almond candy bar.

Man, that was back in the day when we could buy a chocolate candy bar for .35 cents and a soda for .55 cents and still get some penny candy all for under a dollar! I am old, it has finally happened, I am old. But I still like my favorite chocolate candy bars.

First up is the Snickers bar. This bar is made by the company Mars, Inc. and has existed since 1930. Named for one of the Mars families horses, it has been popular since. It used to be known as Marathon outside the US, but that name was changed to Snickers. Why is this one of the best chocolate bars ever made, well because it is delicious that's why!

Peanuts, nougat, caramel all covered in milk chocolate make this bar have a little bit of everything all in perfect balance. I love the crunchiness of the nuts mixed with the chewy caramel and nougat. The nuts and caramel separate it from the bland and boring Three Musketeers and Milky Way. There are certain times I crave a good chocolate bar, and only a Snickers will do. For that it ranks high on my list of best chocolate bars.

Second on the list is the Hershey chocolate almond bar. This bar is the my favorite Chocolate Bar and the one that is simple but satisfying. The first bar was introduced in 1894 and while variations exist, when one wants a good old fashioned American chocolate bar, Hershey, is the one to enjoy.

Finally, there's the Baby Ruth. A little historical fact floating around is that the Baby Ruth chocolate candy bar was named after Ruth Cleveland, President Clevelands daughter. Some think it was named after Babe Ruth, but either way it is one of my favorites that I got many cavities eating.

So, this may not be your pick, but they are representations of a time when health and chocolate eating were not on everyone's mind as today. They were meant for a snack, not your main meal. These were the top ones you went for at halloween too. So, what's your favorite?

Also, I discovered a couple of days ago a place called The South Bend Chocolate Company in Indiana. They have a line of signature chocolate candy bars. Here is where you move up from the average, everyday, supermarket candy bars. Now, it is gourmet, the finest of ingredients, cocoa butter, milk, nuts, the best recipes from the best. So, check it out, I already want to visit this place and their chocolate cafe!

POW! BANG! KABLOOEY! All are acceptable sounds when noshing on some chocolate bullets. Packaging This is easily the best chocolate packaging I've ever come across. The artwork, the weight of it, and even the little clasps on the end. It's the little touches that make this so authentic and fun to use. The best thing about it is that I could use this little tin for whatever I wanted! I don't have a ton of bullets lying about, but I do have a lot of stuff that could very easily fit into tin boxes. Half broken pencils, the teeth that came out of my head when I was 10, and even a few candy bars. Storing candy bars in a metal tin, now that's the very definition of hardcore. Boxes are such a delightful thing. Back in the day, when I would roam the plains of the South Side of Chicago, I created my own Box Monster. It was essentially just me inside several boxes that were taped together. I would shamble around the city making sounds you would expect a box monster to make. A lot of grunts and moans. Unfortunately, there were no eye holes in the boxes. A design flaw that reared it's head immediately. Despite this, I continued to walk down various busy intersections in the pursuit of one laugh. It didn't matter if the laugh was out of contempt or genuine happiness, I had to get AT LEAST one. And so I strolled, bumping into each and everything that came in my path. I knew I couldn't keep this up for too long but my internal drive didn't know when to stop. Finally, after about 2 hours <b>...</b>
